Welcome to Mustard Living!

Born in a community who traditionally do textile weaving in Southern India, Vineetha was surrounded by the vibrant hues and intricate designs of traditional arts. Her love for design blossomed from a very young age. It was no surprise she chose interior design as her career. While working in the design industry she found herself drawn towards home furnishings and home decor products which culminated in starting her own line of handcrafted home furnishing goods.

And then there's me— Rajeswari. Sure, by day, I'm knee-deep in the world of IT, but by heart, I'm a passionate supporter for the environment, local communities, and empowering women and children. Funny how life works, right?

The Birth of Mustard Living

Vineetha’s Husband and I used to be colleagues and one day over a family gathering, Vineetha shared that she couldn’t find much colorful handcrafted home decor goods  in Canada and that she deeply had an urge to bridge that gap and bring India’s rich handcrafted textiles to the western world but with contemporary designs. I couldn't help but jump in with my own enthusiasm for supporting her idea and the local artisan communities in India and making a difference in the lives of the artisan community. It was like the stars aligned, and Mustard Living was born!
